Fattso's Five Favourite Bristol Lunch Spots
Bristol, we know you’re spoilt for lunchtime choice. From market stalls to hidden gems, there’s no shortage of high calibre places to grab a bite. But to celebrate the launch of Fattso Burger’s new lunch menu, we’re giving a nod to some of our favourite local lunch spots. These are the spots we go to when we’re not munching our way through our own stock.
You can find us at The Stag and Hounds with a new lighter lunch setup for those of you who don’t fancy spending your afternoon in a post-burger nap. Of course, if a food coma is exactly what you’re after, you can still order from our full menu. Either way, we’ve got you covered.
1. Gigi’s Pizza (Old Market)
Sometimes, nothing but pizza will do, and when that craving hits, Gigi’s is the place to be. Gigi's takes everything you think you know about a good slice and levels it up. The dough? Fermented to perfection for that ideal crunch-to-chew ratio. The toppings? A mix of old-school favourites and modern combos that just work.
They specialise in 12” or 18” pies, pizza by the slice. Whether you’re a margherita purist or you like your toppings a bit ‘out there,’ Gigi’s is just one of those places where every bite makes you pause and go, “Yeah, this is it.”
Our go to pizza is the Vodka pizza, which is something really unique and a signature Gigi’s flavour. The perfect balance of creamy, fresh flavours.

2. Gourmet Warriors (Harbourside Markets)
Gourmet Warriors brings pure street food genius to every dish they serve at the markets, and their award-winning Birria tacos are front and centre. Think slow-cooked, juicy goat wrapped in
crispy tortillas, then dunked in rich consommé that you’ll want to drink straight.

Their menu evolves with fusion creations that hit all the right spots for meat-lovers, veggies, and vegans alike. If you’re a little further out go and find them at The Plough in Easton.

3. Matina (St. Nick’s Market)
Ah Matina. The queue might look like it’ll take most of your lunch break and even if it did, it’d be worth it. But in reality you’ll be waiting minutes. Their wraps are the stuff of Bristol legend.

Freshly grilled flatbreads, flame-seared meats or golden halloumi, piles of zesty salads, and sauces so good you’ll be asking if they can fill up your keep cup. Each wrap is hand-crafted to be both perfectly spiced and ridiculously generous. Napkins are non-negotiable, but a second visit later in the week? Equally non-negotiable.

4. Authentic Hot Pot and Hand Pulled Noodles (Redcliff)
Serves up exactly what it says on the tin and much more. This spot is all about the theatrics, with fresh noodles pulled right before your eyes and hot pots bubbling away. You choose your broth, pick your add-ins, and then sit back as your pot becomes personal magic. The flavours are bold and balanced, the noodles have that perfect bite, and calling the portions generous is an understatement. It’s a spot for those days when you want something warming, filling, and worthy of a food coma later.

5. Magari (Wapping Wharf)
Magari strip pasta back to what it should be – simple, fresh, and ridiculously good. Using a handful of superb ingredients, and executed flawlessly, they’re proving less is definitely more.

This is the perfect spot for a quick yet intimate meal at Wapping Wharf. Their handmade pasta is at the heart of everything. Nothing here is overcomplicated – it’s a symphony of balance, and the locally sourced ingredients play every note. Magari is, without a doubt, Italian simplicity elevated.

Our favourite pasta dish is the Alici, a perfect blend of anchovies, breadcrumbs, and lemon zest that delivers a bright, fresh flavour and amazing texture.

Bonus 6th Spot: The Stag and Hounds - Old Market, Home of the Original Fattso
You didn’t think we’d leave ourselves out, did you? Swing by The Stag and Hounds for Fattso’s lunch menu, the same award-winning smashed burgers in lighter, lunch-ready portions.

Start with The Wee Mack, our classic single patty burger. It’s an American-inspired dish proving Brits definitely do it better. American cheese, sweet onions, pickles, and a slathering of our secret sauce come together in a blockbuster of a burger.
Or maybe you’re in the mood for Say Hallou to My Littler Friend. It’s our crispy halloumi burger served golden like an Oscar.

For our herbivore homies, there’s Mi-Quite Hungry, a cheeky twist on our Mi-So Hungry vegan burger. We’ve swapped our Redefine meat patty for crispy oyster mushrooms. We promise it’s as satisfying as the original.

Best part? All our lunchtime burgers are under a tenner, and for a few extra coins, you can level up with a pint or soft drink.
